The first newsletter for this year. Just letting everybody know I'm back in SA, catching up on all the messages, emails and editing hours and hours of video footage.
Thank you to everybody in the States for your support and help during my last visit to Atlanta, Houston and Dallas. Now for planning the next trip.

26 October 2011 Newsletter.

Yes people, the journey is starting on the 25th November 2011. I am flying with my daughter to Atlanta and we will visit my family for a couple of days. Michaela (my baby) will then embark on her own journey as she will be visiting her “boyfriend” in Minnesota. I will be in the States till the 14th of January 2012.
I will be doing Atlanta, Florida, Houston, Dallas, Texas, SO IF YOU ARE IN ANY OF THESE AREAS AND YOU WANT TO HOOK UP, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!! I am busy planning the itinerary. Also please send me dates that will suit you if you are interested.
The
itinerary so far:
25 – 30 Nov: Atlanta – family time.
1 - 4 Dec: Open for interviews.
4 Dec: Visiting the Afrikaans
Church Services in Atlanta (Dirk en Antionette
Taljaard)
Then from there I am pretty flexible.

14 October 2011 Newsletter.
Ok People, seeing that the Netherlands/Belgium/Luxembourg trip has been postponed till next year, I am thinking of visiting my family in the States in December 2011/ January 2012. They are in the Atlanta and Florida area. If there are any people in these regions that would like to hook up with me for the documentary project, please let me know.

11 October 2011 Newsletter.
Hi Everybody.
So the plan was to do the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg areas in November/December, but I have decided to move this to next year. There are a lot of people that would like to be part of the project, but because of work obligations during the week, they can only see me over weekends. I spoke to Andre Koning (from Koningskos) and we are planning to do a Spring Braai somewhere in April, May. (The date and place will be confirmed and we’ll let you know.)
So the plan now – February will be a good time to start the
traveling project. This gives me enough time to organize everything and the mad
Christmas season will be over. Where will I start? You tell me. The place where
I get the most invites from will be my first destination. So let me hear from
you.

22 Sept 2011 NEWS LETTER.
22 August was the last newsletter and it feels like yesterday. Time flies.
Ok so it’s official – I am starting in The Netherlands. It will
be in November. See the link for all the places I will be visiting.

a lot of planning to do.

22 August 2011 NEWS LETTER.
Hi Group Members.
Thank you to everybody who joined the new Harold Schenk Facebook profile page. This page will only be dedicated to this project.
The project is exactly one month old today and a lot has happened since that evening with the cheap wine. The feedback, interest and invitations........WOW!!!!!!!! I am even getting invites from non South Africans that like the idea so much. Out of all the mails and messages I received there were only two “zuurknolle”, so well done SA Expats. No matter where you are in the world, I see you are still a friendly nation.
I also received so many invitations to festivals all over the world. I have decided to do one series just on SA Expat Festivals, so let me know when your next event is so that I can diarize it.
Something else developing out of this project - people are finding and connecting with other expats they do not know, living in their area, through my website and Facebook pages. Amazing.
SOUTH AFRICANS REUNITE.
I am letting you know that the first leg of this project will kick off in the Netherlands in October. Exact dates will be announced. Any SA Expats in the area, interested to get involved with the project, please let me know. You can start off by dropping me an email with your story. (email address – nwbs@imaginet.co.za) We are starting to setup the dates and meetings with people that are interested so let me know if you want to be part of the project.
Also just to let you know – we added a new page to the website – YOUR COMMENTS. You are welcome to write to me on this page or on the new Facebook page or you can send me an email. (nwbs@imaginet.co.za) Also new on the website is “MY LOG BOOK”. On this page I have started logging my experiences on this project from the second of Aug 2011.
